The Union Public Service Commission or UPSC is a central authority organization which conducts civil service examinations and also which appoints service of the Union. Procedure and Fee Structure for UPSC - Civil Service Exam

The method for the application of UPSC exam is online now at preliminary level. The candidates appearing for the civil services preliminary exam can download their admit cards from the official website of UPSC.

The candidates appearing for the exam should possess a degree from any of the recognised universities incorporated as in by the Act of State Legislature or the Central or by other educational institutions which are established by the Parliament Act or even can have an equivalent degree.

Fee structure-

The fee structures for UPSC Exams are as below-

   The candidates who apply through offline means or the common application form have to pay a fee- Rs. 100/ with single Central Recruitment Fee Stamp.

 All the Female Candidates and also the candidates who belong to the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes need not pay any fee.

     The persons who are Physically Disabled are exempted from payment of fee otherwise where they are eligible for appointment to Posts which are to be filled based on the results of the examination and the standards of medical fitness for the Posts including physically handicapped.

 Candidates, those who are applying through online means except female/physically disabled/ sc/st candidates are free from the payment of fees should pay a fee- Rs. 50/ by paying in any of the branches of the state bank of India through cash, or also by the use of facility of net banking with that of SBI or even by using master or visa credit or debit card.

About the Exam-

The UPSC civil service exams are conducted in three major steps-

1.     Preliminary examination
2.     Main Examination
3.     Interview Round

The preliminary examination consists of objective type papers for general studies and also aptitude test. The main exam consists of nine papers like conventional essay type. The main exam is next followed by an personality test or interview.

The aspirants can start the exam preparation at the earliest. By referring the previous year's exam papers, NCERT text books, Sample papers would help them out in getting a brief idea on the syllabus and pattern of the examination.

The Civil Service examination is known to be the one among the toughest examinations. Thus cracking this exam is not an child’s play.
