Important Current Affairs Topics for UPSC Exam

Union Public Services Commission is the central recruitment agency responsible for conducting various examinations for recruiting personnel for different services in the government sector. Out of the many examinations conducted by UPSC like Combined Defence Services Examination, Engineering Services Examination, Indian Statistical Service examination, the Civil Service Examination is considered the mother of all examinations due to its difficulty level. 


The civil services exam is conducted for recruitment of candidates for the posts of Indian Administrative Services, Indian Foreign Services, Indian Police Services, Indian Forest Services, Indian Revenue Services etc. The UPSC notification specifies the dates of notification of exams, application deadline and the duration of the exams.

Civil Services examination is conducted in 3 levels annually. Civil Services Preliminary Examination being level one, followed by civil services mains and personal interview.
